MCM Scholarship 2023-24: MCM Scholarship is a scholarship meant to offer monetary support to bright, meritorious students from economically weaker sections of society. Hence, the name MCM (merit-cum-means) scholarship.
MCM scholarships are primarily offered by the Government of India, however, there are also private institutions offering similar scholarships. AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls
AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls, as the name implies is a scholarship meant to encourage female students to pursue technical courses. The All India Council for Technical Education offers 4,000 annually and awards eligible candidates an amount of INR 30,000. The application period begins in September and concludes in October. Applications are done online through the official AICTE website.
- Eligibility: Female candidates who have procured admission to 1st year Degree or Diploma in an AICTE approved institution. Moreover, the candidate’s annual family income from all sources must not exceed INR 8,00,000.
- Award: The scholarship awards and amount of INR 30,000 or the tuition fee, whichever is lower.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students is a scholarship program offered by the Department of Higher Education, under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The scholarship aims to provide financial support to students who are bright and meritorious, belonging to economically weaker sections of the society. The application period begins in July and concludes in October.
- Eligibility: The candidate must be a regular, full-time student pursuing an engineering or a medical course. Moreover, the candidate must have secured marks above the 80th percentile during their class 12 exams or equivalent.
- Award: The scholarship awards successful candidates an amount of INR 10,000 to INR 20,000 per annum until the completion of the course.
Eklavya Scholarship, Maharashtra
Eklavya Scholarship, Maharashtra is a scholarship provided by the Government of Maharashtra. It aims to provide monetary support to candidates who are very meritorious but hail from economically weaker sections of the society. The application period begins in December and concludes the following year in January. The application process is done online through the official website mahadbtmahait.gov.in.
- Eligibility: The candidate must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra. Furthermore, the candidate must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in Arts, Law or Commerce (graduation) and 70% in Science (graduation). The other criteria are that the candidate’s annual family income must not exceed INR 75,000.
- Award: An award of INR 5,000 (annual) is given during the duration of the course.
Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students
Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students is a scholarship provided by the UGC. It aims to offer financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections of the society who wish to pursue M.Phil or Ph.D. The tentative application period commences from the month of January. The application process is entirely online and the form can be accessed from UGC’s official website.
- Eligibility: The candidate must belong to minority communities that include Sikhs, Parsi, Jain, Muslim, and Christian. Moreover, the candidate must have cleared CSIR-NET/ NTA-UGC-NET examination and be registered in the Ph.D. or M.Phil course as full time- regular student. The annual family income of the candidate from all sources must not be more than INR 6,00,000.
- Award: Successful candidates will be awarded a stipend up to INR 28,000 for the duration of the course. Other benefits will be provided as well.
Merit cum Means Scholarship for BPL students, Kerala
Merit cum Means Scholarship for BPL students, Kerala is provided by the Government of Kerala for talented and meritorious students that are under the poverty line. The scholarship period commences from January every year. The students have to obtain a registration form from their respective school principals.
- Eligibility: The candidate must be pursuing their course form a government or a government-aided school. Furthermore, the candidate must belong to the Below Poverty Line category. The attendance percentage must not be less than 70%.
- Award: Successful candidates are eligible for an award of INR 5,000 (annual) for the duration of their course.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS (Minorities)
Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS is provided by the Ministry of Minority. The scholarship aims to provide poor but very meritorious students financial support required to complete professional and technical courses. The application process is done online, through the National Scholarship Portal. The application period begins in September every year and concludes the following month.
- Eligibility: Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in their previous qualifying exams. Moreover, the candidates must have taken admission in a professional or technical course at the PG or UG level. Furthermore, the annual income of the candidates’ family from all sources must not exceed INR 2,50,000
- Award: Successful candidates are awarded an amount up to INR 20,000 (per annum).
Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/ Minority Students, Delhi
Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/ Minority Students, Delhi is a scholarship by the Delhi government to support very bright and meritorious students. The scholarship application form is available online through the EDistrict portal.
- Eligibility: The candidates must belong to the SC, ST, OBC or minority category and be a domicile of Delhi. Moreover, the candidates must be pursuing a PG/ UG course from a recognized institution. Also, a minimum of 60% marks should have been secured in the previous qualifying exam. The candidate’s annual family income from all sources must not be more than INR 2,00,000.
- Award: An amount of INR 1,860 will be awarded as maintenance allowance, among other benefits.

Merit-cum-Means Minority Scholarship Scheme, Haryana aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections of the society. Mukhya Mantri Hamari Beti Yojna, Rajasthan
Mukhya Mantri Hamari Beti Yojna, Rajasthan is a scholarship aimed at providing financial assistance to meritorious girl students from economically weaker sections of the society wishing to pursue higher studies. Three candidates from each district are selected for the scholarship.
- Eligibility: The female candidate must be domiciled in Rajasthan. Moreover, they should belong to the BPL category. The candidate must be enrolled in a government school and should have secured not less than 75% marks in their 10th class.
- Award: The scholarship awards an amount up to INR 25,000.
National Means Cum Merit Scholarship
National Means Cum Merit Scholarship is a scholarship that falls under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It aims to provide financial assistance to very bright, meritorious students from economically weaker sections of the society. The application process is done online and candidates will have to appear for a selection test in their respective states.
- Eligibility: The candidates must currently be pursuing class 9 and should have secured at least 55% marks in their previous classes (class 7 and 8). The annual family income should not exceed INR 1,50,000.
