Raksha Bandhan Class 3 Maths Worksheet
Let’s Revise
Multiplication by Repeated Addition Method
When the same number is added repeatedly it is called repeated addition.
And multiplication is repeated addition of numbers.
1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 × 5 = 5
2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 2 × 5 = 10
3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 3 × 5 = 15
4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 4 × 5 = 20
5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 5 × 5 = 25
10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 10 × 5 = 50
20 + 20 + 20 + 20 + 20 = 20 × 5 = 100
Dividing or separating into equal groups is called Division.
Division by Repeated Subtraction Method
When the same number is repeatedly subtracted from another larger number until the remainder is zero or a number smaller than the number being subtracted, it is called repeated subtraction method of division.
1 jumps = 3;
2 jumps = 3 + 3 = 6; 2 × 3 = 6
