House of Hundreds 1 Class 3 Maths Worksheet
Let’s Revise
- 100 is the smallest 3-digit natural number.
- 100 is 1 more than the greatest 2-digit number, 99 + 1 = 100
- By grouping of 10 we can do counting of large numbers more effectively and correctly
- When numbers are written from the smallest to the largest, they are in ascending order.
- When numbers are written from the largest to the smallest, they are in descending order.
- When we have to compare two 3 – digit numbers, we compare the digits in the hundreds place first. The number with the greater hundred’s digit is the greater of the two.
- If the hundreds digits are same, we compare the tens digits and so on.
To form the smallest number using the given digits only once :
1. When none of the digits is zero, arrange the digits in ascending orders, we arrange the digits in ascending orders and form the number.
2. When one of the digit is zero, we arrange the digits in ascending order and put zero at second place from extreme left while forming the number.
- To form the greatest number using the digits only once, we arrange the digits in descending order.
- Pictorial representation of numbers on a straight line is called number line.
- The numbers on a number line are placed sequentially at equal distances along its length. It can be extended infinitely in any direction and is represented horizontally.
235 lies between 200 and 250.
