And applying for a loan is not an easy task, students need to be very careful. To provide education loans, banks have a number of terms and conditions. This mainly includes the set of documents, so before going to your bank, look at the documents that are required to take with you.

Past Academic Records

  • SSC/10th Class or equivalent mark sheet/passing certificate
  • HSC/12th Class or equivalent mark sheet/passing certificate
  • Diploma passing certificate/record of marks/diploma certificate
  • Graduation degree (it may be 3-year or 4-year), mark sheet/passing certificate (if applicable)
  • Records of the past etc
  • Special education/ Professional courses/Certificate courses passing certificate

Present Academic Documents Records

  • Admission Proof: conditional offer letter/permanent admission letter/Admission letter/bonafide certificate/seat allocation certificate
  • Records/documents of academic fees breakup
  • College/University/Institution placement records (not mandatory for all banks)

Foreign Education Academic Proofs:

  • I-20 form for study in US academic institutions
  • Entry permit (if applicable for respective country)
  • CAS Letter for UK education loan applicants
  • Exchange student form or exchange visitor form of the respective country.
  • Qualification documents for GMAT, GRE, IELTS, TOEFL, etc

Required Documents of Financial While Applying For Education Loan

  • Academic fees demand letter (issued by the academic institution)

  • IT (income tax) returns approved and verified by CA: at least 24 months
  • Audited P&L (profit and loss statement) of business for the current and previous financial year

Financial documents for employed/govt.-non govt. service/salaried

  • Salary computation statement issued by the employer for the current and previous year
  • Form 16 and ITR returns for at least 2 years
  • Salary slips issued by the employer (at least recent 2 months)

Collateral Documents Required For Education Loan

Collateral documents are required as there is a high demand for loan amounts. Collateral doesn’t only act as a physical guarantee of loans but also banks reduce the loan interest rates. So make sure you have all the below collateral documents or not.

Loan against securities/shares and debentures

  • PAN card copy (mandatory)
  • De-Mat account statement (last 6 months at least)

Latest property tax statements, maintenance tax/bill

  • Loan against deposits
  • NOC from society/builder
  • Original FD/RD receipts
  • Interest statement of FD/RD
