What are Shapes?
Shape is an outline or boundary of an object. There are two types of shapes – two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional shapes (3D).

Two Dimensional Shapes
Shapes like circle, triangle, square, rectangle and oval are called two dimensional shapes.

For example
Wheels, Chess Boards, Slices of Pizza and Stop sign are such examples of two dimensional shapes. –

Three Dimensional Shapes
Shapes like cube, cuboid, cylinder, sphere, etc. are called three dimensional shapes. 3D shapes have three dimensions.

Rubik’s cube, die, a ball, an ice cream cone, a bucket are such examples of three dimensional shapes.
