Class 4 The Old Stag Questions and Answers

Let us Think (Page 47)

A. Answer the following.

Question 1.
Why was the old stag popular?
Answer:
The old stag was popular because of his warm and kind nature. He greeted all the animals and birds each day with affection, earning their love and respect.

Question 2.
Why did the old stag not go down the hillock to meet his friends?
Answer:
The old stag was too weak due to illness to descend the hillock. Though his spirit was willing, his legs were staging a protest.

Question 3.
Why did the green cover of the hillock slowly vanish?
Answer:
The green cover vanished because many of the visiting animals ate grass of the hillock.

The Old Stag Class 4 Question Answer English Santoor Chapter 5

Question 4.
Did the animals realise their mistake towards the end? What did they do?
Answer:
Yes, the animals did realise their mistake. Struck by guilt, they stopped eating the grass on the hillock and even began bringing fresh leaves for the stag. It was a heartfelt apologythe leafy kind.

B. Think and Discuss.

Question 1.
Did the animals do the right thing in the end? Why do you think so?
Answer:
Yes, they absolutely did the right thing. After recognising their thoughtless behaviour, they took steps to correct it. They respected the stag’s space, allowed the grass to grow back, and even supported his recovery. It’s never’too late to leave your mistakes behind.

Question 2.
What would happen to the green plants around us if each one of us thought only of our own needs?
Answer:
If everyone only cared about their own needs, the greenery around us would slowly disappear- much like cookies at a kids’ party. Nature’s balance would be disturbed, and resources would run dry. A little greed goes a long way… in the wrong direction.
