Let us speak

I. Read the story given below aloud. Check the correct pronunciation of the underlined words with the teacher.
Ravi and Raju were friends. Ravi was a true and loyal friend, but Raju was a selfish friend.

One day they set out on a long journey. Their way lay through a thick forest. As they were passing through it, they saw a bear. It was coming towards them. Raju at once climbed up a nearby tree. He was now safe. Ravi didn’t know howto climb a tree. He had heard that the bear didn’t eat the dead. So, he lay down on the ground and held his breath.

The bear came and sniffed Ravi. It took him for a dead man. Then, it went away. Now Raju got down the tree. He asked Ravi, “What did the bear ask him?” Ravi replied, “The bear advised me not to trust a false friend like you.” Raju felt ashamed.

II. Now try saying this tongue twister fast as many times as you can.
“Fifty flamingos fluttered fast, flying fearlessly through the forest fog”.
