Making Things Class 3 EVS Notes Chapter 11
In this chapter, we learn about the art of making different things from clay. We learn about pottery, brick making, and making houses. Mini is a little girl whose grandfather is a potter. A potter makes clay pots on the potter wheel using wet clay. The pots are baked in a special oven called a kiln. Some patterns are drawn on pots to make them beautiful.
We can also see patterns on plants and animals. Bricks are also made of mud. They are prepared in moulds to give them shape and then baked in a kiln. Bricks are used in construction of houses. Houses are also built with other materials like mud, grass, wood, cow dung, cement, etc. It is important to follow safety rules while making the buildings.
